Creating and Restoring Backups

Backups protect your world from accidental griefing, bad plugin updates, or corrupted saves. Here’s how to manage them from your Pterodactyl panel:

Creating a backup

1. Open your server and go to the Backups tab in the sidebar.
2. Click Create Backup and give it a name you’ll recognize later (e.g. “before-1.21-update”).
3. Wait for the status to change to Completed u2014 larger worlds take longer.

Restoring a backup

1. Stop your server first.
2. In the Backups tab, click the three-dot menu next to the backup you want and choose Restore.
3. Confirm u2014 this will overwrite your current world with the backup.

Plans with Automatic Backups included will run this on a schedule for you automatically u2014 no need to remember to do it manually.
